My Staples Trip – 10/17!

Spent $6.96, Saved $39; 85%!!

This week, Staples has 100% Rewards on16ct packs of Duracell AAA and AA Batteries.  We needed some AAAs and I had $20 in Rewards to use by the end of November, so I thought this was a great deal to roll!  There’s also a $5 off $25 printable coupon on Staples.com.  Since the two packs of batteries were $19.98 ($9.99 each), I needed something to get me to $25 to use my coupon.

I searched around the store, and here’s what I found:

2 16ct Duracell AAA Batteries $9.99/ea
2 HP Paper Reams $5.99/ea
-Used $5/$25 Staples Printable Coupon
-Used $20 in Staples Rewards

The paper reams are on sale for $5.99 each, but, there’s a $3.99 Easy Rebate on up to two reams!  So that makes this trip a $1.02 Money Maker after the rebate!

I put the $6.96 +tax on that Staples eGift Card that I bought myself through Ebates a few months ago.

I’ll receive $19.98 back in Rewards in December.

My Staples Trip Yesterday!

I got two little coupons in the mail for HP ink refills at Staples.  One was for $10 off when I spent $50 in HP ink in the store, and the other was identical but for an online purchase.  This week, Staples has a deal where you get $6 per recycled cartridge (instead of $2) when you spend $50 on HP ink.  I needed the color cartridges since I’m printing a whole bunch of pictures for the Baby’s Scrapbook this weekend, so I decided to stock up.

Spent $89.94, Saved $30 or 25%!

Here’s what I got:

Online Transaction (through Ebates)

2 HP Combo Packs Color $26.99/ea
-Used $10/$50 HP Online Ink Purchase
     -Used $8 Staples Rewards
Free Shipping via Ship to Store Option

Spent $35.98, Saved $18 or 33%!

In-Store Transaction

2 HP Combo Packs Color $26.99/ea
-Used $10/$50 HP In Store Ink Purchase
2 Reams Hammerhill Paper $4.99

Spent $53.96, Saved $12 or 16%.

The paper was on sale for $4.99 each, and they have a Staples Easy Rebate $4.49, limit two!  That’s $.50 per ream after rebate!  So, I’ll get a check for $8.98.  That makes my total now $80.96 and my savings $38.98 or 32%.

I got all of the ink for $79.96.  That’s 12 cartridges at $6.66 each (eeek!), when they are regularly $9.99 each.  It’s not the best I’ve ever done, but any savings on ink is savings, and I needed it right away, so I’m ok with it!  I’ll also get 10% Staples Rewards on my ink purchase, plus the $30 in Rewards from my 5 recycled cartridges!

I earned 4% cash back on the online purchase through Ebates.  Here’s the part where I messed up.  I bought myself a $40 gift card through Ebates to pay for the in-store purchase, and I forgot to print it out.  So, that means, I’m challenging myself to see how long I can make that $40 Gift Card last!  I don’t go to Staples that much, maybe once a month, but I’ll update you on my progress!  It’s a $40 Staples Challenge!  Yay!

Staples Deals This Week!

***I’m re-posting this because the $1/1 HP Paper Printable is back!  You can print it from the Free Coupons Page here on the blog!  Remember, the limit on the rebate is 2, and that’s how many of the paper coupons you can print from one computer!  Remember, the folders are only $.01 each with a $5 purchase through tomorrow.***

I finally got around to going through my paper and looking at the ads, and I saw some great deals at Staples!

Get a ream of HP Multipurpose Paper for $1 after Coupon & Easy Rebate!  They are on sale for $5.99 each.   If you still have your $1 HP Paper Printable Coupons here, use that and pay $4.99, then get the easy rebate for $3.99!  This has a limit of 2, so print two coupons and get two reams for $1 a piece!!  In store only.

Get a 7-Pack of Zebra Z-Grip Pens FREE after Easy Rebate!  They are on sale for $4 this week, with a $4 Easy Rebate.  In store only.  Limit 1.

If you spend $5, which you will if you get any combination of the above deals, you can get up to 10 2-pocket folders for $.01 each!  This deal is in-store only, Sunday-Wednesday.

The Easy Rebates are, well, very easy.  I always select the option at the end to receive a check instead of a pre-paid Visa, but that’s up to you.  Don’t forget to scan your Staples Rewards Card!

My Staples Trip Today!

Spent $4.09, Saved $16.38; 80%!

I decided to take my own advice from yesterday’s post, and go to Staples for some cheap paper!  I still had 2 of the printable HP Paper coupons (no more prints), and I needed to get a pencil case.  The baby likes to break crayons.  I’m going to have to get one of those crayon makers that makes new crayons out of broken ones when the Crayola coupons come out.  Since I was spending over $5, I got 10 2 pocket folders for $.01 a piece!

I also recycled an old laptop battery.  Staples accepts all kinds of batteries for recycling, as well as plastic bags and ink cartridges!  You don’t get anything for recycling batteries, but I got it out of my house!  If you are a member of Staples Rewards, you get $2 per ink cartridge that you recycle.  That’s how I get my ink cheap!

The spending/savings amounts in the caption include the rebates.  I’ve already submitted my rebates via the Staples Easy Rebates Website!  It took less than 5 minutes, and I’ll get a check for $7.98 in 6-8 weeks!

Spent $5.98, Saved $14 or 70%!!

I love my HP Photosmart Premium Wireless All-In-One Printer.  I’ve talked about it before (it’s actually cheaper now at $96.95!), but it really is the best printer I’ve ever used.  We’ve had it for almost a year, and there’s really nothing that I don’t like about it.  It prints/scans (flatbed)/copies, it has memory card slots, it’s a photo printer, IT’S WIRELESS, I can print coupons pictures and other documents from my iPhone, and the ink cartridges are much cheaper than most HP cartridges!  What’s not to like?

I had $14 in Staples Rewards that I needed to use, plus they were running a deal where you got an extra $2 per recycled cartridge (it’s usually $2 per cartridge) and 20% rewards when you bought two identical HP Refill Cartridges.  The regular sized cartridges run about $9-11 for black & photo black for this unit, and about $26 for the 3 color cartridges.  Cheap, right?  There’s also an XL option for about $23.  I find, as I do with most couponing, that it’s cheaper to buy lots of little ones and roll my rewards.  Sometimes, there are rebates available, but not on this trip.

I had 4 cartridges to recycle last week, so that will give me $16 in rewards for the next Reward Period.  I came home , got on Ebates to get 2% cash back, and bought 2 of the Black Photo Cartridges, since that was what we were running low on at the time.  They were $9.99 each, so $19.98 together.  I applied my $14 in rewards to get the price for both down to $5.98.  I then selected the Ship To Store shipping option, which gave me free shipping to my local Staples Store.  They gave me a call yesterday, and I went over there today to pick them up!  Easy and I added to my Cash Back for the quarter at Ebates!

Just to recap, that’s 2 ink name-brand ink cartridges for $5.98.  That’s $2.99 per cartridge!!  When was the last time you got Brand Name Ink Cartridges for $2.99 a piece?  That’s why the HP Photosmart Premium Wireless All-In-One Printer is the best printer ever! When I get my next rewards, I’m going to need the color cartridges.

Staples Rewards really is the best Office Supply Store Reward Program.  It’s very easy and straightforward.  I love it!
