I was supplied with a complimentary Veet Infini’Silk to facilitate my review.. I was not required to post a positive review. My opinions are 100% my own
A couple of months ago, I was contacted to see if I would like to review a not-yet-released product called the Veet Infini’Silk. The Veet Infini’Silk is a small hand-held device that allows you to get permanent hair removal at home. It works by using pulses of light to reduce the growth of hair.
I’ve never done laser hair removal, though I have thought about it a few times, and I have recently been looking into at-home devices, so I jumped at the chance to review this one!
Ever since having my first child, I feel like I have to shave EVERY DAY. It’s super annoying. Yes, because I coupon, I have a lifetime’s supply of razors and shaving gel (not really, though it seems like it sometimes), I just get sick and tired of having to shave. Specifically, I feel like the hair under my arms and on the lower half of my calves, like around my ankles, grow back the second I shave them. If I shave in the morning, the stubble is there at night. If I shave at night, the stubble is there in the morning. It never ends. I even have to shave my calves SIDEWAYS, yes you read that right, to get a closer shave. It’s totally bizarre, and I’m completely sick of it.
When I received my Veet Infini’Silk, I stared at the box for a few weeks. I was scared it would hurt. I had the same reaction to my breastpump when I bought it. We had a Mexican Standoff. Who would blink first? Finally, I opened the package and decided to give it a try.
I thought the packaging was very nice. The box has a sleeve and it’s sturdy. It contains the device, a power cord, and an instruction booklet. The Infini’Silk doesn’t need charging, and it’s ready to go once you plug it in to the wall outlet. There are 6 different power levels, so for my first session, I decided to just do level 1. The light is bright (though you don’t need to wear eye protection, per the instructions), and the feeling is warm, but not painful. I actually bumped it up to level 2 on my next session, and I’ll probably do level 3 on my third session.
The Veet Infini’Silk is easy to use! The only preps is that your legs must be clean shaven and free of moisturizer. Hold the device to the treatment area, and it knows when you have enough area to treat and when you don’t, due to the sensor on the bottom. The little indicator light flashes when it’s ready, and you hit the button. That’s it, and you move to the next spot. You don’t want to overlap, so you have to pay attention, but its very easy to get the hang of. I did both lower legs, underarms, and bikini line in about 20 minutes.
The instructions say it takes several sessions, spaced out every other week, over several months to see results, so after 2 treatments, I’m well within the “you still aren’t seeing results” phase. I’m excited to see what happens after my 6th treatment, and I’ll be sure to come back and update you guys on how its going. So far, I’ve noticed that I don’t have to shave the day after my treatment, so that’s a slight improvement, but I’m not really expecting any drastic improvement until after a few more sessions.
The Veet Infini’Silk retails for $249 with FREE Shipping, which sounds expensive until you add up all of those $13 pink razors, $20 refill cartridges, and $4 cans of shaving gel you have to buy over your lifetime. See? It’s a bargain & you can be in the comfort of your own house!
