Tip #12: Hit the Library!

When’s the last time you visited your local Public Library?  The Library is a great way to save money.  That’s why it’s How I Save Money Tip #12.

Libraries vary around the country, but mine has all kinds of free activities for all ages!

Besides books and story time, our Library has free DVD & Blu Ray Rentals, Free Internet Access & Wifi, Kids programs, and even Movie Screening Nights for the family.

In additional to all of that, ours has free meeting rooms to reserve, and small offices areas where people who work from home, like my husband, can escape to & get some work done in the peace & quiet.

My kids really enjoy the story time activities, and in the Summer, there are the Reading Challenges with door prizes!  They love going to visit the library!

For adults, they have tons of books to check out, as well as a bunch of e-books to rent on your iPad.  Perfect for vacation!

You’re already paying for these services with your property taxes (or built into your rent), so why not take advantage!

That’s why Visiting Your Local Library is my 12th tip for How I Save Money.  Visit your’s today and see what they have to offer you!

What is your favorite thing to do at the library?  Ours started having Lego day every month, and I really want to take my son.  Over Spring Break, our local science & history museum sent their Truck to our library to have hands-on STEM experiments for the kids to do.  It was so much fun! I’d love to hear about the programs at your library.  Tell me about them in the comments!

I’ve always done my nails at home to save money, but I wanted something that actually lasted without damaging my nails.

The Dazzle Dry system dries in about 5 minutes, wears like gel (without the damage), and I can go over a week without chipping.

I’m using You’re Unforgettable from their Better Together spring collection, and I linked the full system + shades in my LTK so you can shop everything in one place.

I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not th I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not the full evolution.

This is my 16-year-old son’s bedroom. I designed it back in the 2020 One Room Challenge with the goal of creating something we wouldn’t need to redo every few years.

Before that, it was a bright little boy’s room.
And when we first got the keys? Just a blank box.

Over time, we’ve upgraded it slowly — including replacing the carpet with hardwood last year to match the rest of the house.

The foundation hasn’t changed.
Just the seasons.

More books.
More Legos.
More personality.

Same room. Just evolving.

I’ll be sharing more spaces from our renovation — not in order, just as they come. Follow along for more. 🤍

Adding an art lamp was the final touch. It completely changed how this space feels, especially at night. ✨
