It’s that time of year again! Time for the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! This sale Is when Nordstrom rewards its cardholders by discounting new Fall merchandise before the season for a limited time. It’s my favorite time to stock up on basics like foundational pieces. I also do a little holiday shopping, and maybe pick up one or two new pieces to add to my wardrobe – all on sale!
Nordstrom launched their online preview of the sale on July 3rd, and I scoured through the entire catalog so you don’t have to. I’ve been shopping this sale for over 15 years, and I’ve seen lots of changes and constants over that time. I know what the deals are and what’s going to sell out quickly.
Today, I’m giving you my initial thoughts on the sale after perusing the preview, plus I’m showing you what’s on my wish list! Let’s get to it!
2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Thoughts
I’m pretty underwhelmed by the offerings this year. In fact, my Wish List is probably the smallest its ever been for a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If you’ve read my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping Strategy post or my How to Shop the NAS Like a Pro post, you’ll know that I stay far, far away from the trendy stuff in the sale. There is a lot of really trendy 90’s stuff in the sale again this year.
Old Reliables are Still Here
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tends to have some of the same things year after year. This is great because it allows you to add to your collection of Must-Haves each year. It’s reliable & dependable. For example, the Barefoot Dreams Cardigans are always going to be a must-have, and this sale is the best time to buy one. Same with the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings.
What’s On My Anniversary Sale Wishlist
Like I said, this year’s Wish List is much, much smaller. One of the things I usually love stocking up on are the Beauty Value Sets. But, since we’re trying to ditch toxins, there wasn’t much available for me. My budget is very happy, though!
Here’s what I’ve got on my Wish List for the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Basics
I always replace some base layers, so I’m going to get 3-4 new pair of my favorite underwear during the sale. These rarely go on sale throughout the year, so this is the best time to buy. They are comfortable, don’t ride up, and wash well in the regular cycle. I wear an XS.
I usually get a new bra during the Anniversary Sale. This year, I’m replacing my favorite Natori Feathers Bra. These are the best bras & this is the best time to buy them. If you’ve never taken advantage of Nordstrom’s free bra sizing, do it. Did you know that the majority of women wear the wrong size bra? Nordstrom will get you sized perfectly and they offer lots of extended sizing both ways.
I love the Moonlight Pajamas, and I need the floral and pink sets. If you’re in the market for matching PJs, I highly recommend getting the short & long versions of the Moonlight Pajamas in the same colorway. I like to wear the pants with the short sleeve top most of the year. Now that I’m over 40, I like wearing grown up pajama sets to sleep. I’ve been slowly swapping my pajamas each year when these go on sale. I size down in Moonlight Pajamas to the XXS. They wear much cooler and hold up better than the Target versions.
New Fall Wardrobe Pieces
I don’t have much in the Fall Wardrobe department because I don’t really need anything. Like I said, I’m underwhelmed this year.
Zella Activewear
I love getting Zella pieces in the Anniversary Sale. I have two pair of these joggers, and I’m going to get this pretty bluey grey. I size down to a XXS in these as well as the long sleeve t shirts.
Beauty Exclusives
The Anniversary Sale is a great time to stock up on your favorite beauty items because the value sets can’t be beat. Like I said earlier, we’re trying to ditch toxins in our products, so really the only thing that qualifies are the Osea Lotion and Body Oil sets. That stuff is expensive and rarely goes on sale, so I’m going to get both because I love those products.
The Anniversary Sale is a great time to get a Beauty Tool at a discount. Some of the tools I have & love that are in the sale include the Glo Pro microneedling set, the Glo Pro Hydrofacial Tool value set, and the NuFace Trinity Facial Toning Device. There is a Dyson Air Wrap in the sale in an exclusive color, but its regular price. Think about the Nordstrom Notes you could rack up on a Triple Points Day for that!
I’m also very Intrigued by the Dr. Dennis Gross Red Light Mask. That thing never goes on sale.
2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts with Icon Level Cardholders shopping at 12:01 AM EDT July 11th, Ambassador level on the 12th and Influencer level on the 13th. It opens to the public on July 17th, and prices go back up on August 6th. I’m an Influencer level, so I will be shopping on the 13th.
