KidKraft Ultimate Chef’s Kitchen Review
One of the first things I wanted to get the kids when we moved was a play kitchen. In this new house, we finally have a playroom and enough space to get something that large. I was so excited about it, and I’ve been telling my husband for months that a play kitchen was one of the first purchases!
Just before we moved, I was contacted by KidKraft to review a play kitchen! What are the odds? I’ve always heard great things about KidKraft kitchens and furniture, so I jumped at the chance to review one of my own!
The KidKraft Ultimate Chef’s Kitchen arrived in a flat-pack box, and IT WAS HEAVY. It was so heavy, I decided the best way to get it upstairs to the playroom was to open the box downstairs and make several trips up with a few pieces each time.
It took me about 2 hours to fully assemble the kitchen. Each pieces is numerically labeled, and all of the hardware is packaged in labeled compartments. I laid out the pieces in numerical order, and put it together during nap time. If you like to put together IKEA furniture, this was similar, although I really appreciated the labeled hardware. That made things go much faster!
The kitchen has realistic components like the faucet & stove knobs that twist and turn. The removable sink is really nice in case of messes.
The kitchen does not come with accessories, but I found some cute, realistic looking pots and pans, utensils and a baking set at IKEA, along with some soft food sets (great for the baby). I also found a few Melissa & Doug wooden food sets at HomeGoods.
One of my favorite parts about the kitchen is all of the storage! You can hide so many toys in the fridge, freezer, microwave & oven! Plus, there’s a fun little shelf area under the sink for more storage, and you can even display things on the top! I found some bins on clearance at Target to hold all of our play food (and other toys) that fit perfectly in the fridge & freezer!
This kitchen is really sturdy, and it isn’t going anywhere, but since I have a little one, I anchored it to the wall with the tether set included in the box. Now, it really isn’t going anywhere!
The kids love the kitchen! They love to make imaginary meals for us and use their imaginations. I love that the kitchen is durable, and I appreciate the clean lines that tie into the contemporary/transitional style that we’re going for in the rest of the house. It even matches the wall color! Dare I say that the kids have the most stylish kitchen in the whole house? (They do!)
KidKraft has many different styles & colors of kitchens to choose from, including vintage styles! Not only do they have kitchens, but they make all kinds of durable playroom furniture, children’s furniture, outdoor toys and more! Make sure you follow KidKraft on Facebook & Twitter for alerts about new products and giveaways.
KidKraft kitchens make great gifts and promise hours and hours of imaginative play for your little ones! I highly recommend them!
