My New Coupon Binder!

Frugal Living, Save Money · August 5, 2011

My first coupon binder bit the dust. The rings have been stretched out for the last few weeks, and it made it hard for me to flip back and forth without the pages coming out of the binder. I’m glad I had a zipper binder, so I could zip it up and deal with it later! Today, I’m going to show you my new coupon binder!

New Coupon Binder Needs

My new coupon binder! See why this is the best binder to organize your coupons!

I’ve been looking around for the perfect binder. I wanted a larger one first and foremost. My previous binder was a 1.5″ binder. I wanted at least a 3″. I also like the zipper pockets in the front flat so I could store everything I needed: a pen, a mini calculator, and a small pair of scissors. My old binder had a card slot so I could put my CVS ExtraCare card in there, so that was nice as well. A binder with lockable rings was key because coupons can get heavy. Of course, I want it to last longer than the cheap one I got at Target. It was great for my first binder, but now I know what I want!

Zipper Binder

Coupon Binder with Zipper

I purchased the Case-it 3 Inch Zipper Binder. It doesn’t have all of the things that I was looking for, but it has most of them. It also has a removable expandafile that is on the inside of the binder. My last one had the expandafile on the outside, and the button popped off really fast.

It doesn’t have a card holder, but it has a mesh zipper pocket on the front of the expandafile. That will work. This binder has a handle on the spine and comes with an optional shoulder strap. I don’t think that’s going to be necessary, but it’s funny! It’s a serious coupon binder!

DIY Coupon Binder Dividers

Coupon Binder DIY Tabs for Sections

I did a little reorganizing. I have the same sections as the last Coupon Binder, and I’ve added a section for Walgreens. I’ve also put quick tabs throughout the grocery section for different groups of items. I made my own tabs instead of using the ready made tabs. They didn’t stick out enough between the baseball card sheets.

It’s not totally done. I need to get some thicker business card sheets. The ones that I have are really flimsy. I use those for gift cards and store coupons that I get in the mail.

Well, what do you think? Want more couponing tips? Check out this post and this post to learn how to coupon! Also, don’t forget to check out all of the different pocket pages that I use to organize my coupon binder!

These are a few Amazon favorites we reach for again and again all summer long.

I’ve always done my nails at home to save money, but I wanted something that actually lasted without damaging my nails.

The Dazzle Dry system dries in about 5 minutes, wears like gel (without the damage), and I can go over a week without chipping.

I’m using You’re Unforgettable from their Better Together spring collection, and I linked the full system + shades in my LTK so you can shop everything in one place.

I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not th I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not the full evolution.

This is my 16-year-old son’s bedroom. I designed it back in the 2020 One Room Challenge with the goal of creating something we wouldn’t need to redo every few years.

Before that, it was a bright little boy’s room.
And when we first got the keys? Just a blank box.

Over time, we’ve upgraded it slowly — including replacing the carpet with hardwood last year to match the rest of the house.

The foundation hasn’t changed.
Just the seasons.

More books.
More Legos.
More personality.

Same room. Just evolving.

I’ll be sharing more spaces from our renovation — not in order, just as they come. Follow along for more. 🤍

Adding an art lamp was the final touch. It completely changed how this space feels, especially at night. ✨
