I haven’t done any nail art in a while, so before our recent beach trip, I decided to try out this Acid Wash Nail Art pin. The results that Dana from Pinkie Grey got were so cool, and the colors from my July Julep Maven Upgraded Box were perfect!
Acid Wash Nail Art
This looks so cool, and it was super easy!
Supplies
Here’s what you need to do acid wash nail art:
- White Polish
- 3-4 Bright Color Polishes
- Dark/Black Polish
- Nail Polish Remover
- Q-Tips
- Base & Top Coat
Directions
Use your favorite base coat, and then do 2 coats of white polish. I did my white manicure a day or two before hand, and added the colors later. Then, cover the white with little random dots of the different bright colors. When that is dry, do one thin coat of your dark color.
Now is the fun part!
Take your q-tip and dip it in the remover. Then, lightly swipe it in random places on your nails. When you see white, STOP! It takes a few swipes in the same spot to get to white, so do one or two swipes in some spots so that all of your spots aren’t white.
I used Julep Nicolette from my Summer Mystery Box, and Juleps Nadia, Joanna, Angela, Karen, and Blakely from my July Maven Box.
What do you think? I loved all of the colors together! It was so abstract! You could do this with browns and yellows for a tortoise shell effect which would be awesome for fall!
