It was my birthday two weeks ago, and if you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you know that I got several birthday freebies this year! In fact, I still have some to birthday coupons to use because a few of them don’t expire until the end of this month!
There are a ton of birthday freebies for restaurants, but there’s also some for shopping! Mostly, its coupons, but many of them have no spending requirements. So you can get free stuff if you’re a savvy shopper!
Here’s what I got with my birthday coupons this year:
- Loft – 2 Sunkissed T-shirts $5
- Express – Leopard Print Hair Skinny Belt $14.90
- Banana Republic Outlet – Denim Trouser Shorts $9
- Victoria’s Secret – 5 pair PINK underwear $16
- Ulta – Essie Nail Polish $8
- DSW – Converse Chucks Socks 3 Pack $4.99
- Sephora – Benefit Minis (not pictured)
What Birthday Coupons Did I Use?
The coupons that I used were:
- $15 off at LOFT
- $10 off at Express
- $15 off at Banana Republic Stores
- $10 off Victoria’s Secret
- $2 off Essie Nail Polish at Ulta
- $5 off at DSW
- FREE Birthday gift at Sephora
All of these coupons did not have a minimum purchase requirement, so they were basically like gift cards. My strategy was the use them on items that I needed that were as close as possible to the price of the coupon. Some coupons, like the Express coupon, exclude sale items. I didn’t really need anything at Express, but I have been looking for a belt like that for a long time, so I decided to get that. At Victoria’s Secret, the undies were $9.50 each or 5 for $26. So, the price per pair was way less if I bought 5 instead of the 2 I would need to use the coupon. So I got 5.
How Did I Get These Birthday Rewards & Coupons?
Some of these coupons I received because I have credit cards to those stores (LOFT, Express, BR), but the rest were free benefits from store reward program (Ulta, Sephora, DSW).
I also got a coupon for Anthropologie (free Anthro card benefit), and I used the 15% off on two shirts, but my Mom picked up the tab on those (thank you Mom!). I didn’t feel that it was fair to include that since I didn’t pay for them.
Some coupons I received that I didn’t use: West Elm (Credit Card Holder), Michael’s (email sign up), CVS ($3 off – I used this last week), and Barnes & Noble (Rewards Program).
Since cleaning out and reorganizing my closet last summer, I’ve been really good about only keeping things that I actually wear, and getting rid of everything else. I made sure to use my Birthday coupons on items that were on my need list.
Every year I post how I spent my birthday coupons on my Instagram! Come follow me so you can get more money saving tips! Want more birthday coupons? Check out this post on how you can get your own Birthday Freebies & Coupons!
