A couple of weeks ago, I received my latest Grove Collaborative order, and I thought “why haven’t I shown this on the blog?” I have no idea! My Grove box is one of my favorite things, and its great for many different reasons. So, starting with this month, I’m going to show you what I get for my buck when I order from Grove.
What is Grove Collaborative?
First, what is Grove Collaborative? Well, its a website where you can get all kinds of good-for-you and good-for-the-Earth products for your home and family delivered right to your doorstep. I use it mostly for cleaning supplies, but they have all kinds of things including skin care, baby care, and laundry products. I find the prices comparable to Target, plus they will price match if you find a better deal. They also have in-house Grove branded items that are fabulous!
Grove VIP Program
Grove has a VIP membership plan that gets you free shipping and access to Free Gifts and other benefits several times a year. I’ve been a Grove Collaborative VIP for a little over a year, and I really love it. I think of this fee as like I’m paying my Amazon Prime fee. I set aside $1.63 per paycheck (we get 24 checks) to cover my membership each year. To get that back, I always order enough to get a free gift. Each month, they have a few items to choose from that you get for free when you spend a certain amount on your order.
You do not have to place an order each month, and you can schedule when you want your deliveries and what items you want in that order. For example, we did not place an order all summer while we were remodeling the kitchen & laundry room.
Sound interesting? Right now, you can get a 5-piece Mrs. Meyers gift set (a $35 value) FOR FREE when you sign up and place your first order! Once you’re a member, you’ll get a referral link to give the same deal to your friends and you’ll get a $10 Credit!
My September 2019 Grove Order
My order was unusually large this month, because I was buying new items for our remodeled Kitchen & Laundry Room. Let’s see what I got!
We almost always have a refill of Mrs. Meyer’s Hand Soap in the Geranium Scent in our order. This soap is non-drying and smells wonderful! There are lots of different scents to choose from, even some seasonal Grove-exclusive scents! With my minimal-effort cleaning routine that I told you about a few months ago, I’m always refilling the soap dispensers around the house. This refill is $6.99 for 33 ounces.
One of the things I was super excited to add to my order this month was this Grove Collaborative Glass Hand Soap Pump! I decided that the new kitchen was too fancy for the plastic Mrs. Meyer’s soap pump that I used to have on my sink-side cake stand. The new kitchen requires no labels and needs things decanted – even the hand soap. I love the simple style of this!
My last Grove order came with the free gift of the matching Dish Soap Pump + dish soap refill, so I need the hand soap to match. This soap pump sells for $10.95, but you can get it in a set with the Mrs. Meyer’s Hand Soap Refill for $14.99! That’s of course what I did this time.
Since the kitchen was getting a new soap pump, the laundry room needed one too. Unfortunately, with the new countertop, my old drink dispenser stand wasn’t going to work. I needed a dish that was rectangular shaped to hold my soap. One of the reasons I placed such a large order this time was because one of the free gift options was the Grove Dish Soap Pump in a set with the Modern Stonewear Tray and a sample of Rooted Sensitive Facial Cleanser! The Modern Stonewear Tray retails for $9.95, so this gift was worth $20.90 not even counting the skincare sample.
The Dish Soap Pump and Dish Soap set that I received in my last order as the free gift that month is worth $18.90. That means in just two orders (of things I would have bought anyway), I got $39.80 worth of stuff I love for free. The VIP fee is $39. I didn’t have to drive anywhere or shop with my children, and because I live in Texas, I didn’t have to pay sales tax. See? Totally Worth it!
One of my favorite in-house Grove Collaborative products that I love is the Bubble Up Dish Brush. This bamboo-handled brush is the refill for the set that includes the cutest little white dish. I keep this out on a cake stand that I have next to the kitchen sink because it is totally display-worthy. You can put a little soap & water in the crock and there’s a spring-mounted disc that you can push up and down to collect the suds on your scrubber. It’s so easy to grab quickly and scrub down a dish before popping it into the dishwasher. The Bubble Up Dish Set is $12.95 and the refills are $5.95 each.
Along the same lines as the Bubble Up Brush is this Bubble Up Sponge Dish. This is exactly like the dish brush only for the Grove Scrubber Sponges (or whatever sponge you choose). I love the Grove Walnut Scrubber Sponges, so I purchased this to add to my sink-side cake stand. We really needed a pretty solution to wet-sponge placement, and this fit the bill.
One of the things I love is how the Grove products are all matching shiny white ceramic. They are very well made. You can get this sponge dish in a set with two Grove Walnut Scrubbers for $12.95, or just the dish for $9.95. I already had plenty of sponges, so I just went for the dish this time.
I’ve been slowly collecting the Grove Collaborative Microfiber All-Purpose Cloths for the last year. One of my sets was a free gift! With the new laundry room, it was finally time to get rid of the old microfiber cloths I’d been using for years. I really love these soft cloths! They are really durable and wash well, plus they are a really nice size. They come in a 2 pack for $7.95.
I hadn’t bought new dish towels in so long that I couldn’t remember the last time I did it. New kitchen means new dish towels, so I stocked up! These Grove Collaborative 100% Cotton Dish Towels are really wonderful. They are nice and thick, the color is vibrant, and they are a great size. $9.99 seemed a little high for just two towels, but I wanted several and wanted them all to match. It’s just too hard to find two or three of the same thing at Home Goods. Plus, the quality of these is excellent.
They have some version or colors of these all year, so I’m not afraid of not being able to replace them exactly in the future. They come in several different colors right now, including this pretty Midnight Navy. I’m totally getting the Heirloom Red for the holidays!
I also picked up some new tea towels for cleaning around the house. I love that these come in a set of three with different colored hems. Each set has one red, one navy, and one grey. I’m going to save the red ones for the holidays (because cleaning should be festive too), and rotate the navy & grey ones. These are great for cleaning stainless steel or wood surfaces. I also like to wrap these around ice packs for my shoulder. These are 100% organic cotton and are $7.95 for three. They also come in plain white if that’s more your thing.
I also ordered another Method Daily Shower Spray, but I guess I forgot to take a picture of it. It sells for $2.99 at Grove, and the refill is $6.49.
The Numbers
I ordered multiples of some items, like the cloths and towels, plus I had the free gift. I did not have any referral credits for this order. My total came to $106.48 for 23 items. That’s just $4.62 per item. The total cost of everything would have been $119.50, so I saved 11%. I also saved gas, time, and sanity, which are priceless.
In the year that I’ve been a Grove Member, I’ve received several free gifts including full sized Hand Sanitizer, my favorite sponges, microfiber cloths, not to mention the FREE $35 5-piece Mrs. Meyer’s Set that I got when I first signed up. I make sure to get my VIP membership’s worth each year. Saving gas and time are bonuses!
With Grove, I know I don’t have to worry about the products that are coming into my home or that I’ll have a bad experience. Each order is checked for accuracy. They’ve even been writing me thank yous on the boxes! You get plenty of notice before its time for your order to ship so that you can review the products you need or move your shipment date. Your Grove representative will email or text you (or both) before its time.
They’re also really great if you do have a problem. They try to package everything really well, even taping the lids so that they don’t spill. I did have a small spillage issue one time, and they replaced the product right away. They really are great!
I love shopping with Grove Collaborative, and I hope you do too! Get your FREE $35 5-piece Mrs. Meyer’s Gift Set when you place your first Grove Order! If you already shop Grove, what are some of your favorite products? Tell me in the comments! I’m always looking to try new items in my next order.
