I love Amazon. You love Amazon. So I thought I’d show you what I order from Amazon each month!
Amazon can be a real time saver, but it can also get out of control quickly. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know I have a pretty detailed household budget that I manage through You Need A Budget (YNAB). My YNAB Budget keeps me on track for my goals. Checking it before making a purchase means that I make smart decisions when it comes to spending.
How I Save When Shopping Amazon
I’m not always spending money from the budget when I shop on Amazon. I use Swagbucks to earn FREE amazon gift cards and they really help to have extra “fun money” to shop on Amazon. Click here to learn more about how I use Swagbucks every day to earn over $300 in Free Amazon Gift Cards each year!
I also use the Chase Amazon Prime Credit Card to make purchases when I’m not using my gift cards. The Chase Amazon Prime Card gives you the option to earn 5% on your purchase or use your points to pay on Amazon.com. I always select the 5% cash back option when I order, and then I will redeem the cash back as a statement credit on my credit card to save money. That way, each purchase earns me the 5% cash back, and I can choose to erase certain purchases with my cash back through the Chase website.
September Amazon Purchases
In September, I ordered a bunch of stuff for the kitchen & laundry room projects, and everything shipped free with Prime! Let’s see what I got!
I’ve been looking for runner rugs for both the kitchen and laundry room, and decided on this budget-friendly version for the laundry room. It’s the perfect size, soft and comfy under foot. It comes in a bunch of different sizes all at great prices! I also purchased a rug pad, but I haven’t opened it yet because my rug doesn’t seem to shift much. I may be because of the hexagon mosaic tile floor. The rug pad was under $14, and the rug was just about $44.
The hanging basket is not from Amazon and has been selling out fast, but you can check here to see if its available now. We use it for goggles and loose pool toys since this room has a door to the patio.
These are really great small storage drawers, but know that the bottom ones won’t nest properly on top of the tops for stacking more than two. I used a bottom one in the laundry room, and then stacked the top one from that set onto the top one from the other set, and they don’t move or topple. I can’t wait to find more places to use these! They are under $21 for one pair.
I really wanted a set of scoops for flour, sugar, and pancake mix. I also got a rice scoop that has the measurements on the scoop. The set of 3 scoops was less than $10, and the rice scoop was under $4.
September Subscribe & Save Order
I do one Subscribe & Save order from Amazon each month. This month, we ordered Smartypants vitamins for Doug (which he loves) and Swiffer Duster Heavy Duty 360 refills. The total for that was just under $34.
Total Spent on Amazon in September
This month, I spent $181.06 on our Amazon Prime Credit Card, and used $45.88 in Gift Cards that I earned from Swagbucks. I also had a $15 Amazon Promo Coupon in my account that was used on the rug. I redeemed $10.81 worth of points for cash back on our Amazon Prime Credit Card.
Did you order anything fun from Amazon this month that you absolutely love? Tell me in the comments! I’ve already ordered some random stuff in October, so stay tuned to see what I got!
