I was recently invited to attend a special night in Dallas with some local bloggers to eat yummy Tai Pei Asian Food & learn about Life Hacks. How exciting is that! I love anything that saves me time and money. I also haven’t been out without my kids in a really long time.  So, introverted little me left her house & drove all the way to Dallas last week to see just what these Life Hacks were all about.

The Party!

This event was held at the cutest little modern duplex in the heart of the City.  We kicked off with a mix & mingle among the bloggers and of course wine.  We tried some of the new Tai Pei Appetizers, including the Spring Rolls & Pot Stickers, both of which were amazing!

After snacking & sipping, we learned all about Tai Pei’s new lineup of products. Did you know they completely refreshed their products and they made with real, pure ingredients?  I didn’t know this, but they actually infuse the flavors in each kernel of rice instead of saucing the rice.  It’s delicious!

The Life Hacks!

We were then introduced to Rachel Rushing, a local blogger & artist, who was going to teach us some Life Hacks!  These life hacks were all about ways to upcycle products that we use everyday into useful objects.  For her hacks, Rachel used the new Tai Pei Bowls.  The new oval-shaped bowl packaging makes it easy to eat your meal, clean it out quickly, then use it for something totally different!

We learned how to make several different items with our Tai Pei Bowls.  The first was a Pinhole Camera.  I had no clue pinhole photography was a thing, but it is, and it is so interesting!  We made the cameras out of our Tai Pei Bowls, then used them to take a picture & learned how to develop the pictures in a real dark room!

Sadly, my little succulent photo didn’t turn out, but I was fascinated by the whole project!

A few of the other items she used the Tai Pei Bowl to make include:

  • A Firestarter Kit – Put some kindling in the bowl, then toss the whole box into your backyard fire pit!  Genius!
  • Party Decor – Wrap the bowls in different colored piñata paper, then string them upside down.  You could even put string lights in them and use them as shades, though you may want to paint the bowl before adding the tissue.
  • Molds – This was probably my favorite.  It’s so easy I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of it before!  You can use the bowl as a mold!  Rachel made a candle , and she also used concrete & a piece of PVC pipe to make a modern concrete planter for a tiny succulent!  She also cut the bowl & folded it to make a smaller, geometric mold, filled it with concrete, and made a concrete bud vase!

The Tai Pei Food!

Not only were we learning cool DIYs, but we also were sampling some of the new Tai Pei Flavors like Chicken Fried Rice, General Tso’s Spicy Chicken and Beef & Broccoli.  I’ve been buying Tai Pei meals for years and love them for a quick dinner on busy nights, and everyone can have their own flavors.  My new favorite is the General Tso’s.  So flavorful & fresh, you can’t believe its frozen!  The Chicken Fried Rice was so good & easy!

I can’t wait to try the other new Tai Pei Flavors!  I think I’m going with Sweet & Sour Chicken next.  I’m going to stock my freezer before school starts.  That first week is rough.  You definitely need easy meals that week, and Tai Pei fits the bill.

All in all, it was a fun night meeting new people, sipping fun drinks, eating yummy food & making DIY projects!

Here’s a $1 off a Tai Pei Entree coupon so you can try the new flavors! Come back and tell me which is your favorite.

I’m so glad I got out of my comfort zone to go to this brand event. I can’t wait for my next opportunity!

I’ve always done my nails at home to save money, but I wanted something that actually lasted without damaging my nails.

The Dazzle Dry system dries in about 5 minutes, wears like gel (without the damage), and I can go over a week without chipping.

I’m using You’re Unforgettable from their Better Together spring collection, and I linked the full system + shades in my LTK so you can shop everything in one place.

I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not th I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not the full evolution.

This is my 16-year-old son’s bedroom. I designed it back in the 2020 One Room Challenge with the goal of creating something we wouldn’t need to redo every few years.

Before that, it was a bright little boy’s room.
And when we first got the keys? Just a blank box.

Over time, we’ve upgraded it slowly — including replacing the carpet with hardwood last year to match the rest of the house.

The foundation hasn’t changed.
Just the seasons.

More books.
More Legos.
More personality.

Same room. Just evolving.

I’ll be sharing more spaces from our renovation — not in order, just as they come. Follow along for more. 🤍

Adding an art lamp was the final touch. It completely changed how this space feels, especially at night. ✨
