My 2019 Summer Beauty Haul + Birthday Freebies!

Summer Beauty Haul might be a bit of an overstatement, but I did pick up some new beauty products last month and wanted to share them with you!

Last month was my birthday, and both Ulta & Sephora give away birthday freebies if you’re a member of their rewards programs.  Both programs are free and allow you to accumulate points for other free items when you shop.  I also got a 20% off coupon for Ulta that included Prestige Brands, so I used that to stock up on some of my regular items that don’t normally go on sale or are eligible for coupons.

I didn’t have much left in my Beauty Products YNAB budget category, but I did have enough for a few fun beauty products from both stores.  So here’s my 2019 Summer Beauty Haul & Birthday Freebies!

Sephora

First up, I headed to Sephora because one of the two Birthday Freebie choices are deluxe samples from Drunk Elephant.  I’ve seen these products all over my Instagram, and I’ve wanted to try them, but the regular sizes are out of my price range.  The Birthday Freebie set comes with a Mini Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser and a Protini Polypeptide Cream.

I bought two items for full price while I was in the store getting my Birthday Freebie.  Last year when picking up my Birthday Gift, I purchased the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.  I loved it so much that I wanted to get the new Lip Balm!  These Lip Glowy Balms come in four flavors: Berry, Peach, Pear & Grapefruit.  I picked up the Berry one, and I love it.  It gives a slight tint, isn’t sticky, and smells delicious!

The other item I purchased at Sephora is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask.  I’ve been eyeing this one for a while.  I figured if I liked the Lip Sleeping Mask so much, I should try the one for my skin too!  This is really hydrating and feels great!  It’s not sticky, and it absorbs into your skin without any residue on your pillowcase.  It washes off easily in the morning.

At checkout, the cashier and I were talking about the Drunk Elephant Birthday Freebie, and she slipped me a sample foil of their A-Passioni Retinol Cream!

Ulta

By the time I got to Ulta after my birthday, I was down to about $40 in my Beauty Products YNAB category, so I knew I couldn’t go crazy.  I wanted to restock a couple of my favorite products that I use all of the time.  However, I did slip in one little impulse buy.

For the Ulta Birthday Freebies, I got a generous sized trial of Lancome Cils Booster XL Vitamin Infused Mascara Primer.  She also threw in a NYX Lip Lingerie Glitter Lip Gloss, but I think it’s probably not a good color for me.

I love the Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof Concealer by It! Cosmetics.  I use this concealer every single day, so I knew I needed to pick up another with my 20% off coupon.  It covers really well and doesn’t feel heavy.

I also bought a back up of my favorite nail polish remover by Zoya.  My Ulta is hit or miss if they have this product in stock, and they did that day, so I made sure to get a bottle.  This nail polish remover does a wonderful job of completely removing old nail polish and oily residue while not being harsh to your nails or skin.  It also doesn’t smell strong.  I’ve tried many different nail polish removers, and this is the only one I buy now.  Plus, it’s around $10 and it doesn’t have the coupon restrictions that the Ulta prestige brands have.

I’ve been hearing a lot about rosewater facial sprays and they’ve been on my list to try for a while.  I like Mario Badescu Products and decided to pick up the larger size of Rosewater Facial Spray for less than $10.  I love the refreshing spritz and it absorbs quickly.  This will be a great addition to my everyday skincare routine.  If you’re interested in this, I highly recommend getting The Essentials Set that’s in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year.  I would have, but I already have a brand new Drying Lotion and don’t need another because that stuff lasts forever.

So that’s it for my 2019 Summer Beauty Haul!  I need to rebuild my beauty budget for the Fall.  I’m a sucker for those Black Friday deals at Sephora.
