My January 2012 Target Toy Clearance Trips!

It’s that time of year again!  Time for the January 2012 Target Toy Clearance!

This sale happens every year in mid-January, and again in July.  The toys start out at 30% off, then move to 50%, then 70%!  Last year, I got all of my toy shopping for the year done in January, including toys for a toy drive that I participate in through my office.  I didn’t buy a single toy in the July clearance last year.  There just wasn’t anything that interested me enough.  This year, I wanted to make sure I got the toy drive covered, and got enough stuff for birthdays and holidays for our nieces and nephews and our Little Boy!

My January 2012 Target Toy Clearance Trips

Yesterday, I went to three different stores.  Two on my lunch break, and one after work.  Everything in the following pictures was 70% off, except for the 3 basketballs.  They were 50% (sporting goods get marked down the week after toys), but they were $5.18 a ball, and they make great gifts for the toy drive.

What I Got at the 2012 Target Toy Clearance

I got 48 toys.  I spent a total of $272.16 on those 48 toys at the 2012 Target Toy Clearance.  $100 of that was for the toy drive.  I saved $668.11 plus an additional $14.64 with my REDcard.  That makes the grand total original retail price for the toys in the following picture $954.91!  That’s a savings of 71.5%!!!

I’m not going to list everything that I got, but you can see by the pictures that it was a lot.  Our attic is going to be full until December!!

Spent $272.16, Saved $682.75; 71.5%!!

Other Target Clearance

At the last store, I wandered around the Home Department to see if I could find any goodies on the clearance endcaps.  It’s not just toys that are marked down to 70% off, there’s a bunch of stuff in the baby, home and clothing departments.  The clearance is all over the store!  The best place to find them are the interior endcaps that run along the interior walls, i.e. not the main parallel aisles that cross the store.

I found all of this stuff at 70% off too!  The hooded towels were $4.48 a piece, the Turbie Towels 2 packs were $3.88 a piece, and the car care kit was $9!

Spent $30.20, Saved $71.98; 71.5%!

These are a few Amazon favorites we reach for again and again all summer long.

I’ve always done my nails at home to save money, but I wanted something that actually lasted without damaging my nails.

The Dazzle Dry system dries in about 5 minutes, wears like gel (without the damage), and I can go over a week without chipping.

I’m using You’re Unforgettable from their Better Together spring collection, and I linked the full system + shades in my LTK so you can shop everything in one place.

I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not th I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not the full evolution.

This is my 16-year-old son’s bedroom. I designed it back in the 2020 One Room Challenge with the goal of creating something we wouldn’t need to redo every few years.

Before that, it was a bright little boy’s room.
And when we first got the keys? Just a blank box.

Over time, we’ve upgraded it slowly — including replacing the carpet with hardwood last year to match the rest of the house.

The foundation hasn’t changed.
Just the seasons.

More books.
More Legos.
More personality.

Same room. Just evolving.

I’ll be sharing more spaces from our renovation — not in order, just as they come. Follow along for more. 🤍

Adding an art lamp was the final touch. It completely changed how this space feels, especially at night. ✨
