Old Navy Try On Session – Early Spring 2018

I’m back today with something a little bit different!  Instead of literally watching paint dry on the bathroom project, I decided to take the baby to Old Navy and check out their new Spring clothes.  Yesterday, it was in the 70’s and raining.  So Spring-Like!  Today, 32 and dreary.  Yuck.  Spring clothes would definitely make me feel better.  Plus, I still have cash I got at Christmas to spend.

Old Navy still had a lot of winter items, but you can tell they are transitioning to Spring.  There was lots of resort-wear (my favorite!) – pinks, navy, stripes.  I love it all!  They constantly have different sales, so I always try to hold out for a discount.  Today, all of the things I bought were on sale, and I had $20 in rewards to spend!

For reference, I’m 5’3″ and 100 lbs.  I usually wear an XS/0/24 in most items, but have been known to size up for a looser, more relaxed fit in tops.

First up, this Bubblegum Pink Field Jacket is so great!  I have two similar ones from years past that I picked up at other stores, and I wear them all the time.  This pink is so unique!  It definitely came home with me.  I sized up to a Small, and this was the only pink one they had at my store.  Only $34!

I also tried it on in green, this time in an XS, and it felt exactly the same.  It is a little shorter, but similar in the shoulders.  This jacket comes in 8 different colors including camo and navy.  Great layering piece for chilly Spring days!

This white tank is my new go-to layering piece.  It’s phenomenal!  This tank is part of the Luxe line of tees at Old Navy, and it’s nice and cool and swingy.  Perfect for layering now and alone in the Summer.  Plus, it covers your butt.  Love it. Getting it in all the colors, but for now, just cream and clearance grey!  My store had these at 40% off.

These camo skinny jeans fit perfectly.  I haven’t bought jeans at Old Navy in a really long time.  After trying these on, I can’t believe I waited so long to try them!  I’m not a huge fan of the frayed bottoms, but I think they’ll be ok.  I can always cuff them if I want to.  Because these are ankle length, that means they are perfect length for me.  These were 30% off and came in just over $20!

In that same fabric is this awesome v-neck tee that comes in several colors.  Love the length!  This wine color is great, but I ended up going home with the cream (white) for $12.

I saw this anorak online and really liked it, but I was kind of disappointed in person.  First, it is humongous.  This is a Small.  Second, the picture online makes it seem a little more pinky-melon colored, but it’s pretty red in person.

I tried an XS version in green and had the same issue.  I wish it was waterproof.  I’m still wearing my old Gap anorak in a bag from when I worked there in High School, and I’m coming up on a big reunion this year…

This linen-windowpane top is super cute for Spring!  I love the flutter sleeve, and the chambray color is perfect for white jeans!  Nice length too and only $24!

A classic white dress shirt is something on my want list, and I’ve been looking around for the perfect one.  This one isn’t it.  It fits nice, but the fabric is thin and see through.  If you want a more casual look and would wear it open with a tank underneath, this is a great priced option!

This Classic Shirt in Cactus Print came straight home with me.  Isn’t is just the cutest thing!  I can’t wait to wear it with my boyfriend jean shorts and sandals this summer.  This one will sell out fast!  It was 20% off today and just over $20.

Casual dresses are also high on my need list, as I haven’t really worn dresses regularly in almost a decade.  I’ve always needed nursing access, but that’s almost done, so I’m looking for cute dresses!  I loved this t-shirt dress!  The stripes are perfect, it had a nice weight, and it would look awesome with a field jacket or vest and sneakers!

I saw this sweatshirt dress and decided to try it on at the last minute and I really liked it for something a bit warmer.  It comes in several colors as well.

I really loved this relaxed sleeve tunic.  The black was by far my favorite.  I’m wearing it with the camo jeans at the beginning of the post.  It is super comfortable and can be worn with leggings.  Sold!

This little tie sleeve boatneck shirt was really cute on.  They had it in several prints and solids.  I’m not big on 3/4 sleeves, but tie sleeves are very in for Spring.

This lilac sueded knit moto jacket was really cute on the hanger, but I thought it ran a little big. I’d size down if you can. It  comes in 6 other colors including Navy AND it comes in Girls and Toddler Girl sizes too!  So you can have Mommy & Me outfits, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Finally, the jeggings everyone loves…and I hate.  I’ve been seeing these deconstructed denim jeans with the elastic waistband on Instagram for the last year.  They seem like they would be super comfortable.  You know I’m not a fan of paying for destroyed denim, but I would probably pay Old Navy prices for them.  I tried these on in an XS, and they were too big in the waist.  The holes and fraying didn’t bother me much, but they just felt a little baggy in the waist and hips.  Maybe I should have tried on several XS to see if it was just that pair.  I wanted them to work so badly, but they just didn’t.

So that’s it for today’s try on session!  I hope you enjoyed it and found some things to add to your next Old Navy shopping trip!  Hopefully, this can be a more regular item on the blog.  Maybe I’ll hit up J.Crew Factory next.  We’ll see.

Stay tuned to see these looks on Instagram and in my next Closet Challenge Recap!  Let me know what you think in the comments!

I know! I go through fits and spurts with Old Navy. Sometimes, I shop there all the time, and then I’ll go years without shopping there. They’ve got really cute stuff right now! You should totally check it out!

I’ve always done my nails at home to save money, but I wanted something that actually lasted without damaging my nails.

The Dazzle Dry system dries in about 5 minutes, wears like gel (without the damage), and I can go over a week without chipping.

I’m using You’re Unforgettable from their Better Together spring collection, and I linked the full system + shades in my LTK so you can shop everything in one place.

I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not th I’ve shared parts of this room before — but not the full evolution.

This is my 16-year-old son’s bedroom. I designed it back in the 2020 One Room Challenge with the goal of creating something we wouldn’t need to redo every few years.

Before that, it was a bright little boy’s room.
And when we first got the keys? Just a blank box.

Over time, we’ve upgraded it slowly — including replacing the carpet with hardwood last year to match the rest of the house.

The foundation hasn’t changed.
Just the seasons.

More books.
More Legos.
More personality.

Same room. Just evolving.

I’ll be sharing more spaces from our renovation — not in order, just as they come. Follow along for more. 🤍

Adding an art lamp was the final touch. It completely changed how this space feels, especially at night. ✨
