If you’ve been around here for a while, you may have noticed a long pause.
This space went quiet — not because I stopped creating, but because life shifted in a way that required my attention elsewhere. Over the past several years, our priorities changed, our home evolved, and my focus moved toward homeschooling my teenager and caregiving. The work never stopped. I just wasn’t documenting it here.

Life Changed, but Our Home Projects Didn’t Stop
During that time, we completed the Total Home Makeover that I originally began sharing years ago. Rooms were finished, systems were put in place, and our house slowly became a home that truly works for this season of life.
I shared pieces of that process on Instagram as things came together, but my blog stayed untouched — not because I didn’t care about it, but because something had to give.
Homeschooling full-time has a way of clarifying what matters most. It reshaped how I use my time, what I say yes to, and how much energy I have for anything beyond our daily rhythm. For a while, that meant choosing living over documenting.
What Hasn’t Changed About My Approach to Home and Life
What hasn’t changed is my love for creating a home and a life that feels intentional, functional, and lived-in — without overspending.
I still believe:
- You don’t need to chase trends to love your home
- You don’t need to pay full price to design well
- Thoughtful organization makes everyday life easier
Budget-friendly decisions, practical design, and long-term functionality have always been the foundation of how I approach our home. That part of me never went anywhere.

More Than Just Home Projects
While home projects and organization are a big part of what I share, this space has never been limited to just our house.
I’ve always loved finding smart buys, good deals, and things that feel special without being overpriced. That includes seasonal sales like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, everyday favorites I genuinely use and recommend, and the occasional deep dive into something fun — like sourcing unique finds or shopping places like Japanese eBay.
Saving money has never been about depriving ourselves. It’s about being intentional, knowing when something is worth it, and finding better options along the way. That mindset shows up in how we approach our home and in the things I choose to share here.
Going forward, you’ll still see home projects and organization, but you’ll also find posts about favorite things, sales worth paying attention to, and resources I use to shop smarter — all filtered through real life and real use, not trends or impulse buys.
How I’m Sharing Differently Now
What has changed is how I’m sharing our home projects.
Instead of documenting everything in real time, I’m now sharing finished home remodel projects after we’ve actually lived in them. I’m less interested in perfection and more interested in what actually works over time.
This blog is becoming a place to archive that work:
- Before-and-after transformations
- What we did ourselves vs. hired out
- Where we saved money
- What I’d do again (or differently) now that we’ve lived with it
If you’ve followed along on Instagram, some of these spaces may look familiar. If you’re new here, you’ll see them for the first time — not as a highlight reel, but as real rooms built slowly, intentionally, and on a budget.

Moving Forward at a Sustainable Pace
I’m not committing to a rigid posting schedule or promising constant updates. I’m sharing at a pace that fits this season — slower, more thoughtful, and sustainable.
When a project feels ready to be documented, it will be.
If you’re building a home while balancing a lot behind the scenes, I hope you find something helpful or encouraging here. This space isn’t about keeping up. It’s about making choices that last.
I’m glad you’re here — whether you’ve been following for years or just found your way in.
