March 1st marks 7 years in the house! A lot happened over the last year. It’s time to check in on the Total Home Makeover Progress with a Year 7 Remodel Recap!

2020 was such a weird year, but at the same time, it’s the year that our Total Home Remodel started to feel over the hump.
In case you missed seeing the Oak Abode before, here is what it looked like before we started anything. And here are the remodel recaps of what all we got finished in Year One, Year Two, Year Three, Year Four, Year Five & Year Six! It’s always fun to look back at these posts to see the changes!
So let’s check out the Year 7 Remodel Recap with all of our Home Remodel Projects completed in the last year!
Year 7 Remodel Recap Projects
The Dining Room

One project that I worked on in February but didn’t finish until March last year was updating our Dining Room. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, and with the new wood floors coming, I needed to get it done. Board & Batten, new paint, cased the windows, some new decor & a rug really changed this space!
The Hardwood Floors
Just before the pandemic hit, like 4 days before the shutdown, we had our downstairs floors redone. This really unified the whole first floor & made the downstairs remodel feel done.
My Son’s Room

In the Fall, I participated in the One Room Challenge and transformed my son’s little boy room into a Lego Tween Hangout space.
My Daughter’s Room Updates

I did a little rearranging in my Daughter’s room by removing the crib, which gave her space to play.
Home Remodel Projects Left To Do
Here’s what’s left of the Total Home Makeover To Do List:
- Board & Batten Upstairs
- Entryway Accent Wall
- Backyard Gardening Shed
- Front Yard Landscaping/Hardscaping
- Back Yard Landscaping/Hardscaping
- Final Touches to Master Bathroom
- Add Wood Floors Upstairs
- Update Staircase & Railings
- Replace Windows
- Add Plantation Shutters/Shades
- Replace HVAC
- Foundation Piers
- Case All Windows
- Convert Attic to Media Room
- Add Additional Windows in Master Bathroom
So that’s the Year 7 Remodel Recap. We’ve already saved the cash for the new HVAC systems. We’re just waiting on those to die – or we’re ready to do the media room – before we replace them. I think this year we may finally get those windows & shutters. We’ll see. However, I have a couple of small updates that I’m excited to get started!

Hi Tamatha,
I’m so glad that you are inspired by my pantry! Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to make a specific work plan for others. Everyone’s pantries are different sizes and are custom to each client. I have detailed how I built the pantry in this blog post: https://www.stacyssavings.com/our-diy-custom-walk-in-pantry-progress-and-reveal/ and hopefully that helps you!
Thank you!
